About us

We are senior consultants and executives with a minimum of 20 years experience in executing strategy and changing culture. We work with individuals and teams in senior management, middle management, sales and customer service teams.

All too often training and consultancy is carried out without a proper context, with the business impact being inconclusive and hazy. CSI was established by senior executives and consultants specifically to make training and consultancy more accountable.

Our work at CSI is not prescriptive. Nothing we do is off the shelf. We co-design our work with you according to the business results you commit to. The sequence and nature of tools we introduce depend entirely on how well results are being delivered, what potential issues we can anticipate and how the culture and people's execution and change management skills are evolving. You drive your business. We coach you depending on the immediate challenges you face.

The reason we are in existence is because our clients keep telling us that today strategy is execution. All the great ideas and visions in the world are worthless if they can't be implemented rapidly and efficiently.

Our work is in two main areas:

Strategy Development

We facilitate and coaching in strategy development with a focus what it will take to develop and operationalise that strategy.

  • Based on strategy consulting best practice, (we train a top 3 firm at all levels in how to develop strategy for their clients), we provide you the skills to develop the strategy process and facilitate your strategy process with key members of your organization
  • This means you pay a third to a half of what a consulting firm would typically charge
  • And because you own the analysis and formulation process, you get the direct benefit of seeing the facts and arriving at your own conclusions and recommendations first hand
  • You really very few consultants when the focus is on you and your people are taking ownership of your strategy

Implementing strategy and transforming culture

Clients tell us our expertise falls into five areas:

  • Knowing how to make strategy truly actionable for every member of the company
  • Increasing the level of personal responsibility and ownership people have to succeed
  • Changing people's perspective on what is possible for them and the company to achieve
  • Generating exceptional levels of commitment, confidence and creativity so people are undaunted by whatever challenge they face
  • Introducing a language and set of tools and processes that increase the consistency of execution and level of innovation

We have a few principles (another way of saying our code of ethics). We feel very strongly about this. It's why we created the firm. We are committed to working with people in the way we would want professionals to work with us.

Since 1995 when we started we have never produced less than 11 x returns on our fees as measured by a client for an engagement. For the majority of clients it is much more. If we don't think we can do this we will tell you. If you only need us for a few elements of the process such as facilitating a strategy meeting or training change agents we will together decide on how you measure our impact.

We will never undermine you and your work e.g. going to other managers without your permission, not treating our conversations in strict confidence. Our role is to support you in the background not take over.

We don't write copious reports and weigh you down with unnecessary analysis. When we produce written work it will be clear and to the point

People will undoubtedly improve their leadership and implementation capabilities with our support. However our success is determined primarily by your results and how sustainable your growth is.

We do not "bait and switch" our consultants, bringing in someone else you did not meet after someone senior sold you the work. You'll work with the person you feel most comfortable with for as long as you want

Projects are only undertaken once we have identified, quantified and qualified specific measurable results against which our work will be benchmarked.

We have developed three programs, in conjunction with our clients, to help organizations execute their strategies through successful implementation.
